The Truth That Sets Us Free

When we ground ourselves in God’s Word, we experience His best for us.

John 8:31-32

God desires the best for each of His children, but sometimes we become trapped in habits, thoughts, and emotions that keep us from experiencing His best. Today’s passage shows us the way out: If we continue in God’s Word, we’ll know the truth that sets us free (v. 32).

Continuing in the Word means consistently engaging with Scripture and applying it to daily life. As we do, we’ll discover profound benefits that are ours in Christ:

  • Position. Through faith in Jesus, we have direct access to God and can approach His throne with confidence (Heb. 4:16).

  • Provision. God’s Word provides living guidance, wisdom, and encouragement for whatever we’re facing.

  • Promises. As we rely on what God has promised, His character is being formed in us—we “become partakers of the divine nature” (2 Pet. 1:4).

  • Protection. Walking obediently with Christ means His strength guards us against temptation and sin (2 Thess. 3:3).

Freedom begins with honesty. Recognize any patterns or sins that are holding you back, and then ground yourself in the truth of Scripture. Claim God’s promises by faith—He’s ready to help the moment you turn to Him.
